Newcastle Castle, nestled in the heart of Newcastle, is where the story of the city began and the origin behind its name. Steeped in history, this imposing Norman fortress is a rugged reminder of northern England's turbulent history. This was no baron's stately home, but rather a place where armies gathered and criminals were imprisoned and executed.
